Pantothenic Acid (B5)

Also known as vitamin B5, the name comes from the Greek word "panthos" which means everywhere.  Pantothenic acid is found abundantly in almost all foods but is easily lost during processing.  Individuals whose diet exists consists mainly of refined foods may find it helpful to use a B5 or B-complex supplement.  Some refer to pantothenic acid as the "anti-stress" vitamin because the body uses it to produce cortisone and other adrenal hormones that are used up by the adrenal glands during periods of physical or emotional stress.  B5 functions as a coenzyme to enhance the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats as well as supporting the production of healthy skin, hair, nerve and red blood cells.*  (90 Capsules)
