The main biologic action of Phytostatin® is the modulation of P-gp pumps activity at tumor cells membrane. These pumps are involved in the extrusion, of the tumor cells, of chemotherapeutic agents. The pumping action of P-gp mainly explains the resistance to chemotherapy treatments, often observed in clinical settings. Atrium has demonstrated that Phytostatin® prevents the action of P-gp pumps and sustains cancer cells sensitivity to therapeutic agents.
